UK widow seeks more information about husband's asbestos-related death
The UK widow of a man who died of malignant mesothelioma is reportedly trying to understand when and where her husband had been exposed to asbestos, reports the Worcester News.According to the news source, it is speculated that Keith Russell may have been exposed to the carcinogenic material while working at Hardy and Padmore in Worcester during the early 1960s.
Russell reportedly began to develop a cough and suffered breathing problems in December 2009. He was ultimately diagnosed with mesothelioma - a rare form of cancer occurring in the tissues surrounding most of the body's internal organs - last March. A coroner ruled that Russell died of an industrial disease in December at the age of 65.
Asbestos attorneys representing the widow claim the Hardy and Padmore facility in which Russell worked featured two furnaces lined with asbestos as well as boilers and kilns, which both contained the dangerous material.
"We know that Keith died from an industrial disease but in order to obtain justice for his family I need to hear from people who have information concerning the working practices and presence of asbestos in buildings owned or used by Hardy and Padmore Ltd between 1963 and 1965," said an asbestos attorney.
