Mesothelioma Litigation

UK widow received mesothelioma settlement after husband's death
The wife of a British man who died of malignant mesothelioma recently received an asbestos settlement from her husband's former employer.

The mesothelioma lawyers hired by Jenny Hissey were able to win her compensation from the Department for Communities and Local Government, where her husband, Ted, worked for a number of years, according to the Western Telegraph.

Ted Hissey died from mesothelioma in 2007 after being employed by the federal agency, then known as the Department for Environment, at RAF Brawdy and at the Royal Naval Armaments Depot in Trecwn from 1990 to 1993.

Jenny Hissey told the news source that it was hard for her husband and herself to deal with his disease.

"When he was diagnosed with mesothelioma he found it incredibly difficult to be bed bound," she said. "The last three years have been incredibly lonely without him. This compensation does not make up for our loss, but does give us a sense of relief that the employer has taken responsibility for his death."

Asbestos exposure can cause asbestosis and lung cancer in addition to malignant mesothelioma.
