Mesothelioma Litigation

UK widow encourages husband's former co-workers to assist in claim for compensation
The widow of a UK man who died of malignant mesothelioma is asking that her husband's former co-workers come forward to assist her in a compensation claim, the Derby Evening Telegraph reports.

Eric Foster was allegedly exposed to asbestos while he worked at Courtaulds, a manufacturer of clothing, fabric and chemicals. In a statement read at a recent inquest, Foster wrote that he worked as a technician who used steam presses that allegedly contained asbestos.

Foster's widow, Patricia, has decided to follow through with her husband's compensation claim because she believes it was what he would have wanted.

The widow's asbestos lawyers asked that any of Foster's former co-workers or anyone with information that could prove helpful come forward to assist in the compensation claim.

"I would urge anybody with information about the use of asbestos blankets at Courtaulds, or anybody who worked with Mr. Foster, to contact me as soon as possible," the attorney said.

In addition to malignant mesothelioma, exposure to asbestos can cause lung cancer and asbestosis. According to the World Health Organization, such asbestos-related diseases kill approximately 107,000 people each year around the world.
