Mesothelioma Litigation

Former UK hotel worker seeking asbestos compensation
A former pub and hotel worker in the UK has hired an asbestos attorney to investigate his former employers to see if they were responsible for his development of malignant mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer, Wigan Today reports.

Colin Holstein, 61, claims he inhaled the dangerous mineral fibers when he worked in the basement of a pub and hotel, and is reportedly asking his former co-workers to help him file an asbestos lawsuit against the employers.

Holstein allegedly worked in the hotel business for 32 years, often in older buildings with asbestos-contaminated boiler rooms, the news source said. He was diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma in December 2009 and has reportedly been forced to retire early as a result of the deadly illness.

"You never think anything of it at the time, you just get on with your job," Holstein said of the asbestos. "I certainly never expected it would come back to haunt me so many years later."

In addition to malignant mesothelioma, asbestos exposure can cause asbestosis and lung cancer.
